Re-thinking cosmetics packaging through a circular material framework

Initiated through the new circular biomaterial COCOA - the story of KUSK re-thinks cosmetics packaging and turns these new thoughts into tangible matter in form of a reusable packaging set for self-care products.

Searching for solutions to fight the vast negative impact the cosmetics industry has on the environment - new possibilities within packaging, as well as re-defining narratives around self-care rituals - could create the much needed positive change.

KUSK was developed in search to find new ways of delivering products and involving the consumer in a highly transparent way on the journey towards self-care products within a sustainable system. Within this envisioned sustainable system, the most desired way is to refuse the unnecessary, reduce what is needed and re-use wherever we can.

KUSK is a set of reusable containers made from the circular material COCOA and the easy to use and re-fill set of KUSK aims to support the empowerment of the consumer to reduce their environmental impact and to care for the planet, whilst supporting their self-care rituals.

COCOA is created by Paula Nerlich, KUSK is co-created with Industrial Designer Thibault Lerailler.

We believe in re-thinking the existing, rather than creating new.
